Capturing a king or his heir could lead to the end of conflict. One could also use it for hostage reasons if the idea of prisoners is expanded. Naturally, much of this is very similar to the new concubinage system introduced for pagans, but I think it would be very useful as a mechanic in general, whether accessed from the diplomacy screen or the intrigue menu and would actually provide a proper hostage system within the game, with the appropriate tyranny penalties. Kidnapping would be more open, obviously than assassination, so the chances and benefits of doing so without being caught are minimal. Of course you could just kidnap them for the sake of ransom. You could, furthermore, capture the daughter directly force her into marriage for her freedom, then capture the son so he will answer your call to arms regardless of his opinion of you. You could capture a enemy and force his daughter to marry into your family, thereby creating an alliance. A prisoner/kindapee is at your mercy, therefore must accede to any demands (on the principle that you release him after doing so). It could also be part of a process whereby having a captive is leverage in diplomatic relations. Furthermore capturing a king or his heir (or other children) would place them at their mercy meaning they could not war against you in the first place. One could also use it for hostage reasons if the idea of prisoners and captives is expanded. If you wish to get rid of rival claimants without gaining the kinslayer trait, for instance, kidnapping, rather than assasination would be much preferred. Of course, there would be certain advantages over assassination. Naturally, this would have a much lower percentage of success than the king's imprison option, or even assasination chances. Given the king has an imprison option, would it make sense if everyone had the option of taking a character prisoner.
